Day trips

Lecce: A charming baroque town just 5 minutes away, Lecce is a hidden gem in southern Italy. We enjoy having an aperitivo at Quanto Basta or indulging in ice cream from Pasticceria Natale.

Galatina: This very authentic small village is only 15 minutes away. You'll encounter fewer tourists here, allowing you to experience the true "Apulian vibe." Be sure to stop by Pasticceria Ascalone for a pasticciotto or visit Staglio for some fresh bread or focaccia.

Tricase Porto: We love driving south towards Tricase Porto, especially along the scenic route from Otranto to Tricase Porto. It's a perfect opportunity to stop for lunch or dinner at Taverna del Porto or Allo Scoglio.

Valle d’Itria: green hills full of olive trees and quite villages. That’s Valle d’Itria. Visit Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica and Ostuni. Stop over at Cibus for a great meal in Ceglie.

Grottaglie: spend a couple of hours strolling around Grottaglie and visiting ceramists. It is quite unique and the quality is very good. Stop by Antonio Fasano, Ceramiche Arces or Nicola Fasano: each of them with a unique style.

Beach

We are lucky enough to be squeezed between two seas: the Adriatic and Ionic ones, which are both 25 minutes away by car.

We recommend to always bring some diving shoes and snorkeling equipment with you. The sea is crystal clear and you do not want to miss it.

Santa Caterina (25 mins): we love this sleepy seadside town. Go to Salsedine beach club if you feel like sunbathing. For a drink head to Santa, Lido Beija Flor or Barrueco. Great people, vibes and food.

Sant Isidoro (25 mins): we love going there and jumping into some rocky coves. Lido Petra is a good option for a beach club.

Tricase (45 mins): this part of Salento looks reminds us of Greece. Big high cliffs, dramatic sceneries. Stop by Porto Miggiano or Cava di Bauxite and jump into the water.

San Foca (25 mins): we love to coast north of San Foca. Go to Mora Mora beach if you want to sped a day at beach or have a lovely lunch seaside.

Campomarino (1 hour): it is 1 hour away, but we love the nature and the dunes there. Go to Lido posto 9, our favorite beach club. Very laid back. A great fish restaurant too. One of our favorite spot because of its laid back vibe.
